The Smithfield facility covers approximately 1400 sq. metres of administration and factory area. The facility specialises in producing both custom-built and modular Motor Control Centres, and utilises the expertise of the sheet metal fabricating section at Warriewood. The facility incorporates its own busbar shaping equipment, and electric cabling and switchgear assembly area. The facility employs approximately 16 people from apprentices to qualified electrical trades people in a variety of roles.
K E Brown has produced custom-designed and built Motor Control Centres for a variety of mining, sewerage and water treatment plants in Australia including equipment for BHP Billiton, Cowra Water Treatment Works, M5 East Motorway Tunnel, Prospect Water Treatment Plant, Sydney Water and the Tamworth Sewerage Plant, either on a direct contract basis or through leading electrical contractors such as Bass Electrical; CNF; Fredon; the Heyday Group; KRS Electrical; Stowe Australia and UGL.
